Marina Gallegani / Portraits of Secrecy
Marina Gallegani, Brazilian documentary photographer based on Minas Gerais.
Marininha is part of the series " Curating New Angles", where Roberta Tavares is conducting an experience based on previous exercises and narratives main points and pointers of those sustaining a visual identity by elements and moods playing with imagination and interpretation but they are back to the questions and provocations that make these authors and storytellers unique in their purpose.
The story " Portraits of Secrecy" revisits and reconciliates with all the secret boxes we barely talk about because by the nature of being painful stories and memories they aren't commonly or easily triggers to propose a dialogue and to freely expose their layers. Few people would dare the challenge...few people like a visual artist with the ghosts, monsters and vulnerabilities like Marina who is digging deep and bringing it to surface in powerful images so you know you aren't alone , there is a beginning of conversation, there is hurt, bleeding and heal, there is someone listening and echoing the first sounds of understanding what shapes us.
